| God never punished Adam and Eve |
| After realizing the lies of the Devil, I started to
read Genesis 3:8- 21. There I never found God punishing Adam and Eve
for disobeying him. Instead I found a loving God. |
| (Genesis 3:8) “That evening they heard the Lord
God walking in the garden and they hid from him among the trees.”
Here we see Adam and Eve were running away from God when he came near
to them. |
| When God asked Adam: “Where are you?” Adam
answered “I heard you, in the garden. I was afraid and hid from
you, because I was naked.” Adam was scared to come in front
of the loving God and he was trying to run away from God. |
| Then God asked Adam “Who told you that you were
naked? Did you eat the fruit that I told you not to eat?” |
| Through this Jesus showed me it’s the “forbidden
fruit” that made Adam run away from the loving God. |
| Here I never found an angry God or punishing God. |
| Then Adam answered “The women you put here with
me gave me the fruit, and I ate it.” |
| In this answer I saw Adam trying to blame God and Eve
for what happened. From the moment Adam ate the fruit he lost the
freedom to say the truth to God. |
| The Lord asked the woman, “Why did you do this?” |
| She replied, “The snake tricked me into eating
it.” |
| Here I saw, Eve also lost the freedom to tell the truth
to God. From the moment Eve ate the fruit, fear started to rule her.
Eve also lost the freedom to take the responsibility for what she
did. |
| Genesis 3:14: Then the Lord God said to the snake,
“You will be punished for this: You alone of all the animals
must bear this curse.” God said to the snake for doing this,
the curse will come on the snake. |
| God said to Eve, “I will increase your trouble
in pregnancy and your pain in giving birth.” God told Eve, since
she was controlled by the knowledge of the forbidden fruit she will
have trouble during pregnancy and she had to experience pain in giving
birth. |
| (Genesis 3:17). And he said to the man, “You
listened to your wife and ate the fruit which I told you not to eat.
Because of what you have done, the ground will be under a curse.”
|
| Here God said to Adam that since he ate the fruit that
gave knowledge of what is good and what is bad and since he was controlled
by the Devil, the ground under him will be cursed. |
| Here God said to Adam if he was able to reject the
knowledge about God given by the fruit, and reject the knowledge about
what is good and bad for humans given by the fruit or given by the
Devil, then the curse on the ground will go. |
| If man has to reject the opinion given by the Devil
or the tree that gives knowledge of what is good and bad, first he
has to realize that God is a Loving God and a Caring God. When man
is controlled by the knowledge given by the Devil then he can’t
receive knowledge given by the tree that gives life that is “Jesus
Christ.” Man can’t receive the message that God is not
a punishing God but a loving God, when he believes in a punishing
God. Man can’t believe that God’s best gift is the Holy
Spirit when he believes that the fruit (money, power, acceptance &
other material things) will make him similar to God. |
| When Man is living according to the knowledge given
by the Devil, then it is very painful to live life according to the
life giving tree or Jesus. That’s why the Loving God sent out
Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. |
| This is explained in Genesis 3:22 - 24. Then the Lord
God said, “Now the man has become like one of us and has knowledge
of what is good and what is bad.” He must not be allowed to
take fruit from the tree that gives life, eat it and live for ever.
So the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden and made him cultivate
the soil from which he had been formed. Then at the east side of the
garden he put living creatures and a flaming sword which turned in
all directions. This was to keep anyone from coming near the tree
that gives life. |
| God knows that a Spirit controlled by the Devil’s
teachings can’t receive the teachings of the life giving tree,
Jesus Christ. That is why God never allowed Adam and Eve to go near
the life giving tree. |
| God never wanted man to be controlled by other creatures
of the earth. God created man to control the earth (Genesis 1:26-30). |
| From the beginning itself, when Eve and Adam ate the
fruit from the forbidden tree, the human race was controlled by other
creatures and the Earth by the Devil. |
| But in the beginning a loving God promised that he
would allow man to eat from the life giving tree, that is Jesus Christ.
God promised that he would send his only son to the world and this
son will destroy the head of the Devil, through his life, crucifixion
and resurrection. |
| Then man shall reject the lies of the Devil and with
the help of Jesus, God will allow man to eat from the life giving
tree. |
| Thus God’s promises are explained through Genesis
3:15. “Her offspring will crush your head.” |
| Jesus Christ is that offspring. |
| “Your head” mentioned here is the knowledge
given by the Devil. |
| “Crush your head” means, Jesus through
his life, crucifixion and resurrection, will destroy the lies told
by the Devil. |
>> About God,
>> About the worldly fruits like money and power
>> About what is good and bad for man
>> About God’s love |
| When Jesus revealed what really happened to Adam and
Eve in the beginning, then only I realized how much the Devil was
controlling my life. That I will share with you in the next chapter. |
